About

After receiving a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Arizona in 1976, I was accepted into the master's program in painting and drawing at UNM and completed an MA in 1980 and an MFA in 1982. I have lived in Albuquerque ever since – most of that time in the north valley. Having spent my working years as a graphic designer at both UNM and the University of Arizona I didn't have much time to paint but the year + of social distancing during the pandemic (and retirement) prompted me to set up my studio after a long hiatus and start painting again on a daily basis.

The landscapes come out of my love for the beauty of the desert Southwest, both New Mexico and Arizona - especially the light, sunsets, water, and cloud formations.

The Tango Series is inspired by my more than 20 years of social dancing, DJing and teaching Argentine tango. During the time I danced tango I didn't paint at all.

Some paintings are available for purchase by contacting me. High quality giclee prints are also available for many of the pieces. The cost of prints depends on the size. Framing and shipping costs may be added. Time payments can easily be arranged. Contact me for more information.
